Summer Break at the Munich Exhibition Center – An Outlook on the 2024 Exhibition Year

During summer, the paths between the halls grow quiet. After a busy spring – from INHORGENTA, Analytica to IFAT – the venue briefly feels like a set catching its breath. Nevertheless, work continues behind closed doors: plans, sketches, lists for autumn.

Looking back, three themes set the tone: digitalization, sustainability, and the desire to make technology understandable. IFAT tangibly demonstrated the significant levers in water and circular economy; Analytica showed how to present complex content openly and engagingly. And INHORGENTA once again proved the importance of lighting atmosphere and material selection for perceived value.

After the break, things pick up quickly: electronica and SEMICON Europa bring the displays and demos back to the halls; ISPO focuses on materials and performance. For me, this means bringing architecture, interaction, and details back together – in series that continue to work long after the exhibition is over.

Until then, I enjoy the quiet. A few unhurried walks through the halls, the light from above, the large gates – and the anticipation of what is to come.
