House of Bavarian History - Weltenbrand
For the special exhibition “Weltenbrand – Bavaria in the First World War” at the House of Bavarian History, my focus as a photographer was on capturing the exhibition design itself. My goal was to document the spatial staging, lighting concept, and visual dramaturgy of the exhibition through carefully composed imagery.
The exhibition combines historical photographs, original artifacts, and multimedia elements to create an impressive scenography that evokes the atmosphere of the era. It was particularly fascinating to document the interplay of lighting, materiality, and spatial arrangement of the exhibits from different perspectives. Through deliberate angles and balanced compositions, I aimed to make the underlying design concept of the exhibition visually tangible.
This photo documentation serves not only as an archival record but also as a reference for designers, museums, and cultural institutions interested in innovative exhibition design. A fascinating project that demonstrates how spaces can tell stories of history.
